Bournemouth has begun work on expanding its stadium, with the goal of increasing capacity to over 20,000 seats.
What's happening?
The expansion plans, which include new hospitality facilities and outside broadcasting facilities, have been given the green light by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.
Jim Frevola, the club's president of business, expressed his excitement about the project, stating it's an honor to be part of the transformation.
Why it matters for Bournemouth
The expansion is expected to enhance the supporter experience, addressing concerns about long lines and queuing to get into the stands.
As of now, Bournemouth stands 6th in Premier League with 57 points, 13W-18D-7L from 38 games, and a recent form of DDWWD, having scored 58 goals and conceded 54 this season.
What comes next?
The south stand is set to be demolished and rebuilt, while the north and east stands will be expanded and corners infilled to provide more than 9,000 additional seats.
The project is on track to be finished by the summer of 2027, with Frevola hoping it will help more people in the local community get to the games.
Bournemouth is currently 28 points behind leaders Arsenal and has just finished the season with a last result of Nottingham Forest 1-1 Bournemouth on 2026-05-24, remaining unbeaten in the last 5 games with a recent form of 1W-4D-0L.
