AFC Bournemouth supporters can enjoy some of the cheapest pre-match pints in English football this season, new. The study found the average price for a pint in pubs near the Vitality Stadium is £4.72.
That figure ranks as the fourth lowest in the league, offering a relative bargain for Cherries fans. Bournemouth currently sit 14th in the Premier League with zero points from their opening game, having scored once and conceded twice.
The research was conducted by credit card experts Zable. It analysed the cost of a pint in pubs located near each Premier League stadium. Coventry City fans benefit from the cheapest average, at just £4.16. Sunderland's average is £4.41, while Hull City's is £4.70. Bournemouth's £4.72 average places them just behind Hull, making it a cost-effective option for a pre-game drink.
Adam McAllister from Zable commented on the findings. "For many fans, grabbing a pint before kick-off is part and parcel of the matchday experience, but our that where you choose to drink can make a noticeable difference to the price," he said.
The picture changes once fans enter the ground. A pint inside the Vitality Stadium costs £5.60. That's 88 pence more than the local pub average, representing a markup of 18.64 percent. This is the biggest percentage increase from pub to stadium in the entire Premier League.
So the choice of venue has a real impact on a fan's wallet. "Taking a little time to compare prices before heading to the stadium this season could help fans make their money go further, whether they choose to have a pint at the pub or inside the ground," McAllister added. The full study is available on the Zable website.
This off-field news comes as the team prepares for its second league fixture. After a narrow opening-day defeat, the Cherries have a goal difference of minus one. They are three points behind early leaders Brighton in the title race. The upcoming home game against fourth-placed Everton represents a key early opportunity to get points on the board. For supporters planning their matchday, understanding the full cost is part of the preparation. While the pub offers a cheaper drink, the stadium experience remains unique. The club will be hoping for a strong performance on the pitch to complement the relatively friendly prices off it.
