Bournemouth and Aston Villa have made enquiries to sign Fiorentina striker Albert Gudmundsson. The 29-year-old Iceland international is a target for the Premier League duo as they look to bolster their forward options this summer.
What happened?
Aston Villa and Bournemouth have set their sights on the Icelandic international, making enquiries in the last few hours. At the moment, though, both sides have limited themselves to making a simple enquiry and nothing more.
Why it matters for Bournemouth
Bournemouth needs to strengthen in the coming weeks with European football on the horizon next season. Albert Gudmundsson also has experience in Europe, having played in some form of European competition since 2019. That could be valuable to Marco Rose.
What comes next?
Fiorentina are unlikely to sell at that price given they paid €16m last summer and have him tied to a deal until 2029. They would presumably want to recoup at least that on a striker who scored ten goals and registered six assists in 46 games in all competitions this season.
